The work of Diango Hernández connects his biography and his upbringing in Cuba with an aesthetic vocabulary that both perpetuates and mystifies his longing for his native country and his memories of living and visiting there. A recent series of works uses waves as a recurring visual motif, conjuring poetic, almost romantic images of his native Cuba, while also being an allegory for his country’s politically wrought past and present.

Hernández contributes an edition titled El Mar, a lithograph featuring a handmade intervention, introducing difference into repetition.

MOSTYN is a charity registered in the UK and proceeds from the sales of the editions will be invested back into the gallery's exhibition and engagement programme.
