Edition of 10
Simon Dybbroe Møller is an artist currently based in New York whose work often takes up what he calls “the weighty architecture of the predigital” and “what we used to call nature.” His works are marked by a fascination with artistic models of the twentieth century which the artist appropriates. He links them with diverse references to art, design, architecture, literature or music, and questions them. The installations, colleges, films and sculptures play with works of Minimal Art and Concept Art as well as Constructivism, De Stijl or the Bauhaus and transform their conceptual strategies into narrations that are as sentimental as they are analytical.
This artist’s edition oscillates between construed and authentic art history, between original and reproduction, and transfers the avant-garde of the past into a weave comprising coincidences, secrets and subjective commentaries.
MOSTYN is a charity registered in the UK and proceeds from the sales of the editions will be invested back into the gallery's exhibition and engagement programme.
