'Journeys' Exhibition at Ysgol Tudno

16 May 2015, 10:30am to 17 May 2015, 4:30pm

A pop-up exhibition, by pupils at Ysgol Tudno, in collaboration with MOSTYN and artist Nadine Carter Smith.

Pupils from Ysgol Tudno in Llandudno are proud to present an exhibition, entitled ‘Journeys’, which takes place on Saturday May 16th and Sunday May 17th at the school in Trinity Avenue.

The ‘pop up’ exhibition is the result of a five week artist in residence project, as part of an ongoing partnership with MOSTYN. There will be artist talks, art workshops and poetry readings during the weekend.

Artist Nadine Carter-Smith has been working in the school since early April and each of the 220 pupils, aged from 3 to 11 years old, has taken part in art workshops with Nadine. Beat box and hip hop artist Ed Holden, also known as Mr Phormula, has also been working with pupils to create a soundscape which will accompany the exhibition. The project focuses on part of the Year 5 curriculum which requires the children to create, curate, organise and promote their own gallery. It will culminate in an exhibition in the school’s assembly hall, with further artworks by Nadine forming a trail around the school building.
