Clare Knox-Bentham

25 January - 31 March 2013

Manchester-based designer Clare Knox-Bentham creates large-scale illustrative installations using bright-coloured plastic.

Drawing inspiration from nature, people and the traditions of ‘Día de los Muertos’, her work is an amalgam of figurative graphic forms and abstract shapes, the interlocking continual line, creating the unique style of the work, allowing the viewer to ‘discover’ hidden elements and symbols within. Working freehand she builds up a lacework of imagery using heat-extruded Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate to transform her 2D drawings into the 3D realm creating unique fluid hangings.
